About the Texture Pack:

Borderlands Site
Borderlands 2
Minecraft Site

This is a blog to document the progress on a Minecraft texture pack I'm making in the style of Gearbox Software's Borderlands.

I plan on iterating on these textures so feedback is very much appreciated. Let me know what you think through comments and/or email. Thanks!

Update! Version 1.22

Hey guys!

Been working a bit more on the textures. I've worked out some of the bugs that were reported to me and I've also gone in and adjusted some textures. Made things look better.

This pack is now compatible with the wild grass mod!:

The list has expanded

Hey, all!
I know I said that I'd have a version out this past Sunday, but I completely missed the deadline because of some personal happenings.
I also wanted to update you guys since there has been a change of plans. Instead of just coming out with a single texture pack for this, I'm going to have two. The first version, the one that I'm finishing up now, is going to be much like the images you've seen. Minecraft with a Borderlands artstyle done over it.

See the cow here? The animals are going to still look what they were originally, but with some of that Borderlands flair.

So, I'm going to go over the rest of the characters and do this and then release a version of the pack so you guys can play with it. In the meantime, I will be making a version with more Borderlands elements, like all of the characters replaced with Borderlands enemies and more themed items.

I figure that this way people can have a choice of how Borderlandsy they want it. That and I think a Creeper in the Borderlands artstyle will be hella cool. That and the Borderlands enemies take a lot longer than I anticipated. Don't want to make you guys wait!

As a side note, I've been getting some really nice emails regarding this texture pack. Thanks to you guys for all of the encouragement! It means a lot! I really hope this pack is something you enjoy!

Skag pig! So would that make it a "skig"?

Here's a first look at the skag-pig.

It took longer than expected, but I had some experimentation to do this guy being the first minecraft character attempt. I need to move from him for now since I have a lot to do, but I have some adjustments for him down the road.

I didn't notice how the pigs stare at you until I changed the texture. The vertical mouth is...unsettling to say the least.

Skig jumps for joy!
(These bastards jump too much. Makes it hard to test out textures. :P)

Hab Da Pumkin!

Happy New Year!

So I just finished the pass on the terrain texture. Hooray!

What does this mean for the texture pack? Well, I'm going to move on to doing the characters, weapons, and GUI. The goal is to truck on through this and have the first version of the pack ready to go by the end of this week. Possibly Friday, most likely Sunday (the 9th).

Thank you guys for being so patient with me!

Now for your enjoyment, some screenshots. Take it away screenshots!

TNT

Ah the nefarious slip gate. Notice the plethora of items in my inventory before I go inside...

And the lack of items here...

I'm still experimenting with how the texture is set up with the water but it's getting there.

Ice ice baby.

I just wanted to show the pumpkin here. I've only ran into one playing the game so far. And you can also see the sprouting wheat and the red stone trails.

Take care!
