About the Texture Pack:

Borderlands Site
Borderlands 2
Minecraft Site

This is a blog to document the progress on a Minecraft texture pack I'm making in the style of Gearbox Software's Borderlands.

I plan on iterating on these textures so feedback is very much appreciated. Let me know what you think through comments and/or email. Thanks!

Bordercraft Prospects

Hey guys.

So, I did do some work on the new stuff for Bordercraft, however, because of the sheer volume of new stuff, I'm no where close to being done. I was hoping to have time to sit down and finish it during Thanksgiving, but it just didn't happen. Because it's taken me so long to get around to any of this, I'm giving myself one last chance to update it this month. I'm tired of having this hanging over my head and I'm tired of leaving you guys wondering. If I can't get this finished by the end of the year, I think that will be it.

My life has been completely crazy for me emotionally the past year and especially the past couple of months. It's been very difficult so I apologize that I haven't been able to keep it up.

I have a good bit of time off this month so, here's to hopin.

Thank you guys.

I know there are plenty of peeps out there who have made versions of my pack, so if I don't finish this, I'll make sure that I put up all of my source files for anyone to use.

  1. I look forward to *-*

  2. when you mean source files, you mean all of your unreleased work you're working on/

  3. Ash, speaking as someone who both loves the work you've done on this as well as the work you've done over at Gearbox, PLEASE do NOT feel bad about not being able to update. You've been busting your butt to make one of the best PC action/rpg's ever, AND you've given us what is probably one of the best Minecraft Texture packs out there. The fact is that while they're nowhere near as great as yours, there ARE a few alternatives, one of them being BDcraft.

I don't mean to say that you're easily replaced, not by any means, I just want you (and others, hopefully) to realize that this is something you should be doing for FUN, not because of any sense of obligation you might have (though I have a ton of respect for you because you care enough about us to feel that sort of obligation. It's a rare thing in any industry, especially the entertainment/games industry. To know that a developer actually cares...people like you who desire to do what is right deserve to be rewarded and appreciated for it).

Real life comes first. I hope the emotional roller coaster has been from positive things rather than negative and I hope that if there HAVE been negative things that things get better for you, and quickly.

Most of all, thank you for all the hard work. I've had some of the best times of my life because of some silly bits of code, both because of Minecraft AND Borderlands. Your artwork has provided the backdrop from quite a lot of that and has become interwoven into the tapestry of my life. Good times and bad featuring a cel shaded backdrop. Speaking as a guy who has had a love and passion for art and animation since he was a wee joey, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can't wait to see where your art takes you next. No matter what, please accept my most humble and heartfelt thank you for all the time and effort you put into your many works. I truly appreciate it.

May love be your guide and serendipity your constant companion!

    1. I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I just wanted to say that it is very touching what you said and I won't forget it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)

  5. Hi!
My name is Denis, I like your texture pack very much. It's the best texture pack ever. But progress stoped, and it's sad. I hope then progress restart and we will see update! Good luck for that and thank you so much!
